Presentation
The UC3M Bachelor's Degree in Sociology aims to train professionals with the capacity to analyse and understand the numerous social phenomena that characterise different societies. To this end, the degree provides theoretical and practical knowledge that enables professional insertion in various areas of research and social action, both autonomously and as a complement to other disciplines.
The degree has an applied profile connected to professional development, without abandoning theoretical and conceptual training. The programme is developed along three lines: sociological theory (understood in a broad sense, including sociological theories, understanding of social structure and related issues), training in methodology (represented in qualitative and quantitative techniques and statistics) and more professional training (explicitly oriented towards consultancy or human resources management, among other areas).
The studies are offered face-to-face, to guarantee the acquisition of knowledge in a collective way and guided by critical reasoning, and mostly in Spanish, although subjects will be offered in English as a way of reinforcing the professional mastery of this tool. In addition, the teaching of the Degree is completed with curricular internships in companies, institutions and organisations.
Employability and profesional internships
UC3M has agreements with more than 5,000 companies and institutions for internships and access to employment opportunities
94.8% of graduates have access to a job related to their studies in the first year of graduation, according to the Study of Professional Insertion of Graduates of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
