- EXTENSIONS
While the 90 EC of the Master cover satisfactorily Spain requirements for the professional accreditation as Aeronautical Engineer in just one-and-half years, UC3M is also offering complementary formation to those students desiring to enlarge their apprenticeship and skills, before entering their professional life. The instruments for this are the extended tracks, which will be included in the Academic Transcript or the European Diploma Supplement. These extended tracks (ET) are voluntary and can be customized to different individual interests. UC3M offers different extended tracks, with a typical duration of one semester and involving 30 EC. Extended tracks can be started from December on, after completing the regular courses of MAE second year.
International exchange ET
This is an opportunity to obtain a unique international curriculum integrating the global forces that are shaping the world today and to acquire formation in a particular aerospace field. Grants will be offered in the frame of the Erasmus program for 6-9 month stays in a foreign institution after completing the courses of the regular MAE program. The Master thesis is suggested to be part of the exchange agreement.
Link to Erasmus Call 2014-15 for EDS
Management & Economics ET
This supplement attempts to offer a transversal and complementary formation to MAE students in the broad area of Management and Economics. Students will select courses from a UC3M English-taught Master in the field. Restrictions on certain courses could apply because of schedule constraints and requirements on previous formation.
Graduate School of Business Masters Programs
Graduate School of Economics and Political Science Masters Programs
Aerospace R&D ET
This track provides a formation on research, mainly within one of the Aerospace Technology areas. It is aimed to students willing to enroll later in a PhD program or in a R&D oriented company or agency. Master in Space Engineering
The Master of Space Engineering provides the comprehensive and specialized training required by the space industry. This is a booming sector with growth in Europe and Spain of almost 10% per year in the last decade. The labor market of this industry is dynamic, with a high demand for master-level graduates in engineering, in particular, from the areas of aerospace and telecommunications.
The Master's program in Space Engineering responds to the international, integral, and multidisciplinary nature of the space projects and missions according to three vectors. First, the teaching of the master's degree is entirely in English. Second, it provides a complete training in design and systems engineering with a teaching methodology aimed at the development of space projects. Third, the key topics in space technologies and applications are covered theoretically and practically. These includes both the space vehicle, understood as the platform on which different subsystems are integrated, and its orbital and attitude dynamics, as well as the disciplines related to control, communications, data transmission, as well as the most relevant technological applications.
The UC3M has the appropriate means to provide the necessary multidisciplinary training, through the Departments involved in the fields of Aerospace, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Automation, etc. Finally, it has been established a close collaboration with the industrial sector for both lecturing and internships.
