- Student behavior in class

A. PUNCTUALITY
All pupils must arrive on time for lessons and wait for the teacher, keeping quiet for 15 minutes. If the teacher is late, they must wait in silence so as not to disrupt the other lessons.
B. LEAVING THE CLASSROOM
Once the lesson has begun, students may not leave until it has finished. If a student needs to leave early, they must inform the teacher in advance and obtain their permission to do so.
C. ELECTRONIC DEVICES
When entering the classroom, all students must switch off their electronic devices, unless the teacher permits the use of certain devices, such as computers. In any case, any authorisation granted by the teacher shall be solely for the purpose of working on the subject being taught in class and under no circumstances for browsing websites, checking or replying to emails, chatting, etc.
D. USE OF MOBILE PHONES
Unless the lecturer expressly authorises it, mobile phones may not be used during the lesson. The lecturer may prevent students who have left the classroom to make or receive a phone call from re-entering. The lecturer may also require students who breach the ban on mobile phone use to leave the classroom.
E. BEHAVIOUR DURING LESSONS
Students must behave appropriately in class, refraining from talking to their classmates and paying attention to the teacher’s explanations. They must always follow the rules set by the teacher to ensure that lessons run smoothly.
F. RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR
Students must treat their lecturers, fellow students and the University’s administrative staff with respect.
G. MEASURES TO ENSURE THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
If students’ behaviour prevents academic activities from proceeding normally, the lecturer must call them to order and may even ask them to show their identification and leave the classroom or university premises so that the academic activity can continue as normal. In such cases, the lecturer must immediately report the incident to the relevant body so that it may take the appropriate measures in accordance with the applicable regulations.
H. ACADEMIC FRAUD
Any work produced by students for submission to the lecturer for assessment must be original and free from plagiarism. As previously stated, in cases where it is established that, whilst undertaking tests, exercises or examinations, students have engaged in misconduct that prevents lecturers from exercising their authority to assess knowledge, the entry ‘fail (0)’ shall be recorded in the space provided for the mark (Resolution of the Governing Council of 25 September 2002, on the handling of cases of cheating in which students may have been involved whilst sitting tests, exercises or examinations). It is important to remember that plagiarism is an offence under the Criminal Code.
