This Master offers specialised advanced training in the field of entrepreneurship and business venturing. The purpose of the Master is to offer the best training for the identification of business opportunities and the development and practice of successful business projects.
Likewise, the master pretends encourage and promote entrepreurship and business activity, with the academic world thus contributing to social and economic development.
The Master in Entrepreneurship and Business Venturing is aimed at all those who wish to be:
- Entrepreneurs wishing to develop their business initiatives and business ideas by themselves.
- “Intrapreneurship” or corporate entrepreneurs seeking an active role in any company, setting up new business projects, new divisions, launch of new product lines, or any business initiative.
- Social entrepreneurs interested in setting up business projects with a social purpose.
- Business Consultants or Advisers.
- Professionals in public and private entrepreneurial organisations.

The programme and methodology of the Master’s are designed from the perspective of creating a balance between academic rigour and practical application. The different subjects combine theoretical and practical classes, in which students will apply and integrate the knowledge acquired in different phases of business projects.
The programme is also characterized for offering a wide range of optional subjects, as a result of which each student is able to adapt their education to their own interests, needs and projects. In addition, a series of professional seminars will be given so that students will be able to learn directly from real entrepreneurial experiences. Students will actively participate in various activities developed over the course, all addressing the entrepreneurial phenomenon (workshops, round tables, conferences, entrepreneurs’ club etc.).
Finally, the programme is completed with a final dissertation in which students will be required to propose and develop a viable business project which could successfully be put into practice.
All students will carry out Internships through which they will discover, first hand, the problems and challenges of setting up a new business, developing new projects for a company etc.

Requirements
In order to register for the course, a university degree qualifying students for access to a master's degree or equivalent in the country of issue is required. Students with qualifications issued by countries which are not members of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) will not be required to validate their degrees, although the University will check that they have an equivalent level to official Spanish university qualifications.
Graduates of any academic qualification are eligible to register on the master's degree course, irrespective of their area of specialisation. Given that business activity and the entrepreneurial phenomenon cover any area of society, qualifications from any branch of knowledge are considered appropriate: engineers, humanists, jurists, economists, journalists, architects, scientific experts etc. Students coming from degrees far from Economics and Business and who have not had additional training related to subjects such as Introduction to Business and/or Fundamentals of Business Management must take the "Introduction to Business" training complements.
Admission criteria
Admission to the programme will be based on the decision of the academic committee which will assess each candidate’s potential, taking into account their motivation and the merits of the documentation accompanying their application:

students with foreign university degrees
Once admitted to the Master’s, students with university degrees issued by a higher education institution belonging to an educational system outside the EHEA, must provide, for enrolment, the diploma, legalized by diplomatic procedures or by means of The Hague Apostille. They must also submit the transcript of records, with the grade point average, duly legalized.

- When performing the enrolment you can choose between Full-time enrolment or Part-time enrolment.
- The email address provided upon enrolment will be used for formal communications; students are therefore kindly requested to check their mail regularly.
- Pursuant to the regulations of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a student failing to pay any part of the fees will not be admitted and the enrolment process will be terminated. In cases of cancellation of enrolment due to non-payment, the University may demand the payment of the pending amounts for enrolment in previous academic courses as a prior condition of enrolment.
No diploma or certificate will be issued if a student has any outstanding payments.

For the academic year 2021-2022 a call has been published for a maximum of 5 grants for payment of the net enrolment fees for students accepted into the Master’s, with the following provision:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/21
The Master in Entrepreneurship and Business Venturing will be taught ON CAMPUS. Students who cannot attend to on Campus classes at the beginning of the academic year, due to difficulties or delays obtaining their visas, border closures, or similar issues, will be able to follow classes in a Synchronous Online Teaching system until they are able to arrive to on Campus classes.
Exceptionally, students must attend in an online synchronous teaching system the sessions that may be determined to ensure the prevention and social distancing measures in classrooms. All students must have the necessary equipment to follow classes remotely (device with internet connection and webcam. See Student’s Guide).

METODOLOGÍA BLENDED/SEMIPRESENCIAL*
Este máster se oferta en dos modalidades: presencial 100% y semipresencial.
El desarrollo de la modalidad semipresencial se realiza mediante la plataforma virtual Aula Global y las aplicaciones colaborativas que se integran en la misma (Blackboard, Wooclap, Kaltura, entre otras). A través de dicha plataforma se proporcionan los materiales didácticos y el alumnado entrega las tareas asignadas. La comunicación entre los estudiantes y el equipo docente es directa y bidireccional. Se fomenta la participación del alumnado a través de preguntas, sugerencias y propuestas.
Las clases impartidas en el máster se emiten en directo para que el alumno pueda seguirlas y participar a distancia de forma síncrona.
Durante todo el periodo de formación no presencial, el alumnado contará con apoyo y tutorización específico, monitorizando el progreso de los estudiantes antes de su incorporación al grupo presencial.

Desarrollo de la Modadlidad Semipresencial
CUATRIMESTRE 1 Docencia online Seguimiento síncrono de las clases Exámenes presenciales en enero CUATRIMESTRE 2 Docencia presencial Los estudiantes del grupo semipresencial se agruparán con los estudiantes del grupo presencial Exámenes presenciales en mayo Realización de Prácticas Externas y TFM Se plantea una opción semipresencial en la que, en el primer cuatrimestre -de septiembre-enero- las clases se siguen online de forma síncrona. El diseño de horarios será lo más compatible posible con diferentes husos horarios de los estudiantes internacionales. En concreto, serían en franjas horarias centrales del día (como puede ser de 15 a 19:30 horas).
En el segundo cuatrimestre (clases de febrero-mayo) el estudiante ya asiste a clases de forma presencial.
Las actividades formativas serían las mismas para todos los estudiantes en las dos modalidades. En particular, las actividades formativas ligadas a las prácticas externas y el TFM se plantean en formato presencial, ya que el estudiante asiste a las clases también de forma presencial durante ese cuatrimestre. El seguimiento y acompañamiento de los estudiantes se hace a través de tutorías, que se intensificarán para tener un seguimiento especial en el caso de los estudiantes semipresenciales.
Los exámenes y fechas son los mismos estudiantes de las modalidades presencial y semipresencial. En ambos cuatrimestres se realizan presencialmente en sus respectivas convocatorias.

Sistemas de información específica para modalidad híbrida-semipresencial
La Universidad Carlos III de Madrid cuenta con el sistema BlackBoard Collaborate para que el estudiante pueda seguir las sesiones online de manera síncrona, a la vez que una parte de sus compañeros lo hacen en el aula.
REQUISITOS TECNOLÓGICOS
El estudiante para poder hacer uso de esta herramienta debe contar con:
- Un dispositivo con conexión a internet
- Un dispositivo con micrófono y, de manera opcional, cámara para participar de forma activa en la sesión.
BlackBoard Collaborate es una herramienta que funciona en un gran número de navegadores web que solo admite las dos versiones más recientes del canal estable de los siguientes navegadores: Chrome (recommendable en Windows, Linux y Mac, y para dispositivos móviles con Android), Firefox, Safari (recomendado para dispositivos móviles con iOS y iPadOS)
Para la utilización de este sistema, el estudiante necesita contar con el siguiente como equipamiento técnico:
- Navegador web, tanto desde tu ordenador como desde tu móvil. No es necesario instalar ninguna aplicación adicional. Los navegadores compatibles son (recuerda que tienen que estar actualizados): *Chrome ó *Safari 11
- Conexión a internet: preferiblemente por cable de red, si no wifi; como última opción usa los datos móviles, ya que se trata de un sistema de videoconferencia que consume bastantes datos. El tráfico se incrementa cuanto más vídeos y aplicaciones se compartan durante la sesión.
- Conexión mínima: (48 kbps audio + 360 kps x cada video + 500 kbps contenido) Con una conexión 3G podría ser suficiente, pero como depende da la cantidad de gente conectada, mejor, como hemos comentado anteriormente, conéctate desde una red que te garantice al menos 8Mbps
- Puedes comprobar tu calidad de conexión por ejemplo a través de esta página de test de velocidad.
ACCESO A LAS SESIONES DE BLACKBOARD
El estudiante podrá acceder a las sesiones creadas en BlackBoard Collaborate a través de dos opciones:
- La plataforma de Aula Global con las credenciales del estudiante y una vez dentro ir al curso cuyas actividades deseen visualizar.
En esta página el estudiante podrá acceder al listado de las actividades del curso y podrá ver tanto las sesiones activas, sesiones futuras y las sesiones grabadas para poderlas visualizar en caso de no hacerlo de manera síncrona. - A través del acceso directo mediante URL que el gestor o el docente le enviará a los estudiantes. En este caso accederán directamente al link facilitado.

Las aplicaciones que se integran en Aula Global son:
BlackBoard Collaborate
Este sistema permite que el estudiante pueda seguir las sesiones síncronas a la vez que el resto de sus compañeros lo hacen en el aula, y participar de manera activa en las mismas, o bien acceder a ellas de forma posterior cuando el estudiante tiene distinto uso horarios. Dichas clases se grabarán con la autorización de los estudiantes presentes en el aula.
Desde la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid para fomentar la participación activa de los estudiantes y profesorado se han puesto en marcha las siguientes herramientas para la dinamización de las clases:
Wooclap
Esta herramienta permite la participación por parte de los estudiantes en las clases mediante encuestas rápidas que pueden ser contestadas desde su dispositivo móvil.
Para el docente esta es una forma de comprobar si el contenido se está comprendiendo realmente, ya que los resultados de las encuestas se obtienen en tiempo real. Hay multitud de posibilidades: sondeos, cuestionarios, tormentas de ideas o búsqueda de imágenes son algunas de las opciones.
Kaltura
Se trata de un sistema de dinamización que permite incorporar contenidos multimedia en los cursos tanto al profesorado como a los alumnos. De esta manera, el personal docente es capaz de crear todo tipo de contenidos con audio y vídeo para añadir a sus clases. Los estudiantes también tienen su espacio donde subir contenido multimedia para poder incorporar a sus entregas.
Formación a estudiantes en el uso de las herramientas docentes
Al comienzo del curso, la Universidad ofrece a los estudiantes de nuevo ingreso sesiones formativas sobre el uso de las aplicaciones de enseñanza a distancia, coordinadas por el Vicerrectorado de Estrategia y Educación Digital de la UC3M. Recibirás instrucciones concretas y el calendario de estas formaciones por parte de tu gestor/a de Máster.
Durante estas jornadas el estudiante recibe sesiones formativas sobre Aula Global (Moodle):
- Como tener acceso a los contenidos y tareas que cada profesor sube a la aplicación
- Utilización de los foros para la participación activa
- Acceso a cuestionarios y calificaciones
