  • Inicio

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid has launched an Official Master’s in Civil Liability with the objective of providing adequate coverage, from a practical and research perspective, of a legal area of extraordinary importance.

From the interdisciplinary perspective provided by civil, commercial, labor and private international law, and, globally, the rest of the legal areas, the Master’s possesses a double profile: professional, which entails pursuing internships in companies, and academic or research-oriented, which leads to  direct access to the doctoral program.

The Master’s program addresses topics such as the fundamentals of civil responsibility, civil responsibility and business activity insurance, civil responsibility for damages in labor relations, civil responsibility in international private relations, and patrimonial liability of the public administration, among others.

The objective of these seminars is to offer a comparative law view on some basic issues for the training of any specialist in private law. The aim is to provide useful tools for legal research, but also for professional practice, since in today's globalized world, knowledge of the differences between legal systems is essential.

The seminars will be developed through different sessions (face-to-face or online) given by prestigious academics from foreign universities. Classes will be taught in English or Spanish, depending on the case, and will begin in the second half of September.

  • INTERNSHIPS

The Master in Civil Liability includes in its program the completion of 9 ECTS credits in law firms and institutions of recognized prestige. This completes the quality training that is intended, allowing the student to develop professional skills in this area.

The number of external internship places offered will be limited according to the existing agreements. Likewise, the selection of students for internships will be adjusted to the specific requirements and criteria determined in this regard by the Academic Committee of the Master.

It is the students' obligation to collaborate with the Master's Degree and the University's Career Service for the proper development of the internship, which includes actively participating in the offers sent and in the selection processes, as well as attending the necessary interviews. Once the student has been selected for an internship in a specific company or institution, he/she may not give up the place obtained for this purpose, except for justified reasons that must be approved by the Academic Committee of the Master's Degree.
