    The Master in Telecommunication Engineering is a Master's degree that qualifies to exercise the profession of Telecommunication Engineer, in virtue of the established in the Order CIN / 355/2009 of 9 of February.

    Society demands professionals with this qualification both from telecommunications companies (major telecommunication equipment manufacturers or telecommunications operators) and from other types of companies, institutions or organizations, which need qualified personnel to design and maintain their own computer and telecommunication systems.

    This Master has a strong international component, offers advanced training, and emphasizes management of telecommunication engineering projects.

    It is offer either in bilingual format (English and Spanish), in the Campus Madrid-Puerta de Toledo, or in Spanish, in the Campus of Leganés. In any case, you can take it part-time. In addition, taking into account that the duration of the Master is one year and a half (90 ECTS), there exist the possibility of obtaining a Double Master degree in two years through an internal ECTS validation agreement (either with Master in Multimedia and Communications, or with Master in Telematic Engineering, both of 60 ECTS).

      The request is made electronically through our application. Before starting the admission process it is important to consult the supporting information that we offer below:

      Requirements

      The following candidates may be admitted to the Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid:

      • Graduates with Bachelor's Degrees in: Engineering, Telecommunications Technology, Audiovisual Systems Engineering, Communications Systems Engineering and Telematics Engineering.
      • Three-year courses (Ingenieros Técnicos): Telecommunications engineering graduates with any specialism.
      • Four-year or five-year (depending if taken before or after the changes implemented by the Bologna Process) undergraduate degree courses: Telecommunications Engineering graduates
      • Students holding any Bachelor's Degree, despite the fact there may be outstanding previous subjects deemed necessary.
      • The admission criteria for this Master's Degree are set out in the Order CIN/355/2009, February 9.

       

      Admission criteria

      Student selection will be based on the applicant's CV. Specifically we will consider:

      • The applicant's academic record.
      • The applicant's professional experience in the Telecommunications Engineering field.
      • Any letters of support and academic or professional references vouching for the applicant's admission to the Master.
      • Certificates as evidence of languages ability.

      In the event that the course is oversubscribed due to high demand, personal interviews with candidates may be conducted.

      Versions

      Two versions of the Master's Degree are offered:

      • a bilingual version taught on the Madrid-Puerta De Toledo Campus
      • a Spanish version taught on the Leganés Campus.

      Students may select whichever one of the two versions they wish to follow during the admissions process.

      Language requirements

      You can check the language requirements of the generic language required to study for a Master at UC3M, depending on whether it is in Spanish, English or bilingual.

      Foreign students

      Once admitted to the Master, foreign students with university degree issued by a higher education institution belonging to an educational system outside the EEES, must present, for enrollment, the diploma attesting equivalent training that allows access to postgraduate studies, legalized by diplomatic procedures, or “The Hague Convention Apostille”. More information about Legalization of Documents.

      Due to the professional nature of the master is a requirement to provide approved qualification with the application for admission. More information about make equivalent.

      If needed, documents must be accompanied by an official sworn translation into Spanish.

      • Reservation fee: €450 (It will be paid once the student receives notification of admission to the master, and deducted from the first tuition payment)

      60 ECTS in the first academic year:

      • EU students: €1,786.8 (€29.78/ECTS credit)
      • Non EU students: €9,288 (€154.80/ECTS credit)

      Administrative procedures

      You can find information about administrative procedures in the Virtual Secretariat of your Aula Global along with the enrolled subjects.

      Additional information

      • You can register on the Master’s degree program when you have finished the application admission process and you have received your acceptance.
      • When performing the enrollment you can choose between  Full-time enrollment or Part-time enrollment.
      • The email address which the University provides to the student upon enrollment will be used principally for communications with said student. For this reason, it is essential that it be actualized and periodically consulted.
      • Failure to make payment shall result in non-admission or termination of enrollment according to that established by the University. In case of annulment of registration because of failure to make payment, Universities can demand payment for previous enrollment in earlier academic years as a previous condition for enrollment.
        Universities shall not issue a diploma or certificate when a student has payments of any kind pending.

    The Carlos III University of Madrid announces 1 full grant to study the Master in Telecommunications Engineering in the academic year 2018/2019, which gives access to doctoral programs of the UC3M. The full aid will include the corresponding academic fees, as well as a monthly allowance of € 909.00 gross.

    To apply for the aid it is necessary to have made the application for admission to the Master. Once the notification of admission is received, the student must pay the place reservation within the established deadlines (if the student is finally awarded, the amount of the reservation will be refunded).

      European mobility: Masters UC3M

      Through the European program, the students of the Universidad Carlos III can make a study period in a superior education institution of another European country.

      The objective is to further encourage the internationalization at all levels. For that, in the Ordinary Announcement of places of Universitary Masters European Mobility 2015/2016, its added to the supply of the actual European mobility ERASMUS+, some Universitary Master programs.

      In the University Carlos III of Madrid  we offer two modalities under which exchanges will be made:

      A) European Mobility with recognition of credits ECTS of the own master (International academic stay to take subjects of the master)
      B) International complement, once finished the master courses in which you are enrolled (International academic stay as Complementary Formation)

       

      Double Degrees Masters UC3M

      The Vice Rectorate for International Relations of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, announces 15 places for postgraduate studies, inside the Erasmus+ exchange program of superior teachings, of students mobility 2015/2016. In that framework, they are offered for the 2015/2016 course:

    Double Master's Degrees offered by UC3M

    The UC3M offers the possibility of jointly studying the Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, along with a second Official Master's Degree, which means you will obtain a high level of specialization and research training that will put you in prime position regarding employment and / or access to Ph.D. studies.

    Depending on the Double Master’s Degree studied, you will obtain the corresponding validated ECTS credits, so you can receive in two academic years, two Official Master's Degrees. You can access more detailed information about each Double Master's Degree via the links above.
