Today we are witnessing a boom in field of robotics. The maturity of traditional industrial robotics is now being complemented by the application of robotics to a multitude of new fields, ranging from assistance for persons with disabilities to developing autonomous vehicles. This new robotics, which to a large extent is still in the research and development stage, will grow significantly in the future and establish a ubiquitous presence in society.
The Master’s in Robotics and Automation aims to educate students in the techniques necessary to take on R&D&I projects related to the design of robots and robotic systems.
The content of the Master’s program is largely practical. Not only are more than a third of its credits associated with practical lab work, but in most of the courses student work is encouraged, both individually and as part of a team. Accordingly, the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid Department of Systems Engineering and Automation, internationally renowned in the field of robotics, has state-of the-art laboratories and robots that it has developed, which will familiarize students with the latest advances in robotics.
