Today’s engineer faces a market that is increasingly demanding and competitive and must provide a service to a society that is increasingly concerned with reliability, safety and the environmental impact of engineering processes. The introduction of new technologies requires the engineer not only to be an expert in the subject they work on, but also be prepared to employ a wide range of tools for analysis, measurement, modeling and design.

The program aims to give students a comprehensive education in the area of mechanical engineering in its broadest conception.  As such, its courses are designed to provide students with the basic tools of research most commonly used in these areas, and more specific ones oriented to providing them with knowledge directly related to industrial application.

The Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and Transportation is geared towards students who wish to acquire skills and specific knowledge in the field of design, fabrication, diagnosis of machines with a wide application to industry, particularly in the area of vehicles and transportation.

      Application

The request is made electronically through our application. Before starting the admission process it is important to consult the supporting information that we offer below:

      Requirements

The following candidates may be admitted to the Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Transportation:

      • Graduates with Bachelor’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering and Industrial Technologies Engineering.
      • Graduates with the Ingeniero Industrial degree
      • Graduates with the Ingeniero Técnico Industrial degree in Electrics, Industrial Electronics and Mechanics.

Also there will be able to accede to this Master those who are in possession of other titles belonging to other branches of the engineering as for example, aerospace engineering, marine engineering, industrial design, biomedical engineering or materials engineering. The academic committee of the Master will study in these cases the applications and indicate, if it will be necessary or not to make some formative complements.

      Admission criteria

The Academic Committee of the Master  will select students based on the curriculum vitae of candidates. Specifically it will consider:

      • Candidate’s academic transcript and academic background (up to 70%)
      • The professional or research experience of the candidates in the field of Industrial Engineering (up 15%)
      • Any letters of support and academic or professional references vouching for the applicant's admission to this Master’s Degree (up to 15%)

The percentages indicated after each criterion indicate the maximum valuation of them.
