The Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering, MSECED, is currently organized into 5 research groups. The links to each of them are shown below, including information on their lines of research.

The research groups develop an intense activity, leading and participating in European projects and competitive projects with public funding at both national and regional levels. With regard to technology transfer, the department actively collaborates with European and national companies, and has patents that account for the high scientific-technological level of researchers in this field.

The department has a great technological capacity with a wide range of experimental techniques (see technological capabilities). The equipment is shared by all research groups and ranges from the processing of metals, ceramics, polymers and composites, to their characterization, responding to the needs of the research lines that are developed.
