The company Cedrión, which operates in one of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M)’s business incubation and acceleration programmes, has been awarded in the scale-up category in the Santander X Global Challenge | Countdown to Zero awards. This initiative, promoted by Banco Santander and Formula 1, aims to find innovative and sustainable solutions in various areas of the automotive sector.
The six winning start-ups and scale-ups have received cash prizes for a total of 120,000 euros and access to the ‘Santander X 100’ and EIT InnoEnergy Innovation Engine entrepreneurial project communities. In addition, they will present their solutions to Formula 1 experts.
Cedrión is part of the UC3M ESA-BIC node, one of the four that make up the European Space Agency Business Innovation Centre in the Madrid Region. This company works on the design, development and manufacture of ionic wind devices. They are currently applying their technology to air cleaning and surface disinfection, by ionising the environment without generating waste. The systems used work at ambient temperature and pressure.
