The UC3M rates highly in various indicators, such as the university's professional reputation, its graduate employment rate and its agreements and partnerships with companies. In this last respect, the UC3M ranks 98th in the world.

This ranking aims to use new approaches and an innovative methodology to assess the employability of graduates from higher education institutions around the world. It takes various indicators into account, such as the university's professional reputation, students' job opportunities, agreements and partnerships with companies, internship programmes and graduate employment rates.

In compiling the list, the British consulting firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) analysed responses from some 75,000 companies, as well as approximately 170,000 connections between employers and graduates and some 310,000 job placements. This year saw the number of institutions evaluated for the QS Graduate Employability Ranking increase from 758 to 786 universities.
