Semester Online German Courses

Levels

All levels and sub-levels from A1 though C1 are offered, provided there is a sufficient number of students enrolled in the level. Interested students must first take an online placement test for that purpose.

Schedule

Duration:   40 teaching hours distributed as follows:

  • 20 hours of real-time online sessions
  • 9 hours of synchronous online activities
  • 9 hours of practical workshops 
  • 2 hours final exam
  • Homework and assignments from the teacher, who will provide correction and continuous feedback

All of the course hours will be with a teacher.

Dates and timetables - one day a week:

11 classes of (3.5) hours + 1 class of (1.5) hours

Saturday: from September 25 to December 11, 2021

This is the course

The online and blended learning courses offered by the Centro de Idiomas have the same communicative focus as our face-to-face courses and work on all of the language competences, oral as well as written.

Sessions streamed in real-time ensure interaction with the teacher and with classmates.

All of the autonomous activities are always carried out under the guidance of teacher, who provides correction and continuous feedback to help student progress in their language acquisition.

Timetables

Monday and Wednesday courses: from 18:00 to 20:00

Saturday courses: from 10:00 to 13:30

Registration

1º Semester 2021/2022 Registration period: from August 24 to September 14, 2021

Registration procedure:

  • If you have previous knowlegde of Spanish, take the placement test to determine which course you can take. You will find the link of the test after submitting the enrollment form.
  • If you do not have previous knowledge  of the language, just fill in the ENROLLMENT FORM
  • All registrants will receive an email from the Language Centre after the registration period has ended.
  • Objectives
    • Engage in comprehensive work in all communicative competences, oral as well as written.
    • Acquire the tools necessary to improve oral fluency appropriate to the level.
    • Improve and broaden the student’s lexical range.
    • Work towards attaining grammatical accuracy.
  • Assessment
    • Grade for participation and progress in the online sessions: 30%
    • Grade for homework, assignments and autonomous work: 30%
    • Final exam grade: 40%

    The exam will assess all the communicative elements of the language with a maximum of 10 points possible:

    • Written expression and interaction(2 points)
    • Reading comprehension (2 points)
    • Listening and audiovisual comprehension (2 points)
    • Oral expression and interaction. This section of the exam will be assessed during the last day of the workshop session. (2 points)
    • Grammar and vocabulary (2 points)

    In order to pass the course, the student must receive a grade of 5 in each of the three parts: participation and progress, homework, and exam.

    The exam will be given through Aula Global and Blackboard Collaborate.

     
  • Attendance

    ATTENDANCE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN CREDITS

    A student may only be absent for up to 20% of the course (8 hours) for any given reason.

    A student who does not meet the required attendance for whatever reason, may take the final exam, but will not receive credit recognition.
