About the DELF and DALF exams

The DELF (diplôme d’études en langue française) and the DALF (diplôme approfondi de langue française) are official international French language diplomas for foreigners organised by the French Ministry of National Education.  They promote international mobility at both academic and professional level.  Available in more than 165 countries, they are an asset in an increasingly competitive word.

These diplomas do not expire.

There are three sessions a year (February, Junio and October) and are held at Alliance Française de Madrid with examiners accredited by the National Exams Centre.

Exams enrolment

Registration for the DELF and DALF exams is done through the Alliance Française de Madrid. Candidates will receive notification of the collective tests and the oral exam vie email in the days leading up to the exam.

DELF preparation course (30 hours)

In collaboration with the Alliance Française de Madrid, the UC3M Language Center is offering a DELF B2 preparation course where you will learn the skills required to successfully sit the exam.

  • Official examiner teachers with extensive teaching experience.
  • Online format.
  • Course dedicated to improving the competencies required to effectively complete each exam task.
  • You will be provided with specific strategies to tackle each part of the exam confidently and effectively.
  • Throughout the course, you will complete real simulations which will allow students to familiarise themselves with the dynamic and pressure of the exam day.

Registration and dates

Course dates: 3 October to 5 December 2025

Registration period: 26 August to 17 September 2025

Format: Online

Timetable: Fridays, 10:00 - 13:00

Fees:

  • UC3M students and community: 313€
  • Outside the UC3M: 369€

Registration procedure

  • You must do an online level test.
  • Once you have done the online level test, a teacher will contact the student by telephone to complete an oral test.
  • The Alliance Française will then contact the student to inform them if they are able to join the course or not and confirm the timetable. Once accepted, payment instructions and the necessary registration completion form will be sent.
  • Once the payment has been made and proof of payment has been presented, the student will be enrolled onto the course. 

Important information

  • Registration to the course does not include registration to the exam.  This must be done in “Exam registration”.
  • We reserve the right to not open a group if the minimum number of students is not met.
  • Confirmation of your admission to the course will be sent by email once the registration period has closed.
