This Master's degree aims to offer specialised and rigorous training by effectively combining the theoretical dimensions of business management training with a specific and highly valuable practical focus on the fashion and beauty sector, bearing in mind the achievement of sustainable development goals, such as responsible production and consumption and climate action.

The fashion and beauty business ecosystem has been completely transformed over the last decade: manufacturing and logistics processes, society's perception of companies and their brands, consumer habits, marketing channels, communication. Everything is different. In view of these changes, it is necessary to train a new generation of managers.

The Master's programme aims to offer a highly professional path for continuing to learn how to manage a company in the world of fashion and beauty, training professionals through a qualified and specialised knowledge base and raising their awareness of corporate social responsibility within the industry (contributing to the resolution of development and environmental sustainability issues, etc.).

  • PROGRAM

Module I: Fundamentals of the fashion and beauty industry and responsible business. 6 credits
Coord.: Nicola Giorgi. Bologna Business School

This module lays the foundations for the fashion and beauty industry and its specific characteristics (a brief history of fashion and its main players). The world of fashion encompasses products in which creativity, technology and excellence contribute to creating a product that consumers appreciate as such. Students will learn the fundamentals of brand value creation as applied to the fashion and beauty market, brand value models, the main methods of perceptual brand image analysis, and the elements that make up the DNA of a brand in this sector. They will also study the importance of fashion and beauty in the global economy and the increasingly important link between positive values such as sustainability and premium brands.

Module II: Sustainable product and design management in the fashion and beauty industry. 6 credits
Coordinated by: Patricia Sancho. Freelance consultant

This module will analyse the impact of corporate branding, exclusivity, packaging, exclusive experiences, brand image... aspects that in the beauty and fashion industry are inseparable from the product itself.
Students will learn to manage product design, from the initial idea to the marketing campaign, through three lines: intangibles, the product/service, and consumers. They will learn to design a product/service for the fashion and beauty industry, control and manage production, and analyse the steps in the process to optimise resources and achieve sustainability goals.

Module III: Sustainable business opportunities and strategic diagnosis in the fashion and beauty sector. 6 credits
Coordinated by: Maria José Sanchez Bueno. UC3M

Students will learn how to carry out a strategic diagnosis for a fashion and beauty company through a comprehensive examination of various aspects such as industry characteristics (size, trends, life cycle, suppliers, distribution channels, etc.), competitor analysis, customer analysis (definition of the target audience and evolution of demand), identification and assessment of the resources and capabilities needed to generate a lasting competitive advantage, value chain analysis, organisational structure, competitive strategy, etc. They will also be able to analyse various strategic options that will allow them to examine the growth horizon in business management within the fashion and beauty universe. Finally, students will also learn about business development methods that they can use in the management of their company within the fashion and beauty industry.

Module IV: Digital Marketing and Communication. 6 credits
    Coordinated by: Lola Duque. UC3M

With this module, students will learn how to conduct market research, which they will then use to develop a marketing plan and establish an
appropriate approach for their pricing strategy. Students will also be introduced to strategic marketing, preparing them to develop an online strategy for a new fashion and lifestyle business, and will learn to evaluate the viability of using digital channels to launch or consolidate their new company. They will learn to design and plan a communication campaign using the most appropriate media for each product.

Module V: Distribution, e-commerce and point of sale in the world of fashion and beauty. 6 credits
