The Carlos III International School receives a delegation from Reed College

The Carlos III International School (C3IS) at the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) has received a visit from a delegation from Reed College, with the aim of strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions.

The delegation was made up of Alberto del Río Malo, Associate Dean of Global Education; Mónica López Lerma, Associate Professor of Spanish and Humanities; and Chauncey Diego Francisco Handy, Assistant Professor of Religion and Humanities.
On behalf of UC3M, Loles Morell, Director of the C3IS Student Office; Laura Sanz, professor in the Department of Humanities and GAP/C3IS; academic coordinator; Natalie Krol, professor in the Department of Humanities; Francisco Utray, professor in the Department of Audiovisual Communication; Manuel Colás, professor of Hispanic Studies; Penélope Barrero, administrative coordinator of C3IS programs; and students Giovanni Gaetano Battista and Gonzalo Jiménez Morales, alumni of the International Foundation Program (IFP) and current students of the degrees in International Studies and Business Administration, respectively.
During the visit, the Reed College delegation was received by Loles Morell and Penélope Barrero, who presented the structure and programs of the Carlos III International School. This was followed by a meeting with professors Laura Sanz and Natalie Krol to exchange views on teaching the Humanities and explore academic synergies.
Later, the representatives from Reed College attended the class La España literaria de Cervantes (siglos XVI y XVII) [Cervantes's Literary Spain (16th and 17th centuries)], taught by Professor Manuel Colás, with the aim of learning first-hand about the teaching methodology and approach to Hispanic studies at UC3M.
The program continued with a meeting with Professor Francisco Utray from the Department of Audiovisual Communication, followed by a visit to the laboratories, where the technological resources available for teaching in this area were presented.
After lunch with the teaching team, the day concluded with a meeting with students Giovanni Gaetano Battista and Gonzalo Jiménez Morales, who shared their experiences as UC3M students and ambassadors of the International Foundation Program (IFP).
This visit reaffirms the Carlos III International School's commitment to internationalization and strengthening ties with prestigious academic institutions. UC3M and Reed College will continue to explore avenues of cooperation to promote student mobility and academic exchange.
