Cross-cutting activities School of Law

Imagen de portada escena de reuniΓ³n de personas

At Graduate School of Law each year we offer two cross-cutting activities with the aim of improving some of the soft skills of our students that are not part of their hard knowledge training of each Program. Specifically, we focus on searching legal databases, improving the presence in social networks through the acquisition of appropriate capabilities to write CV or Bios, or fostering networks and job seeking with prestigious companies and institutions.

Finally, with these activities we encourage students of the different Master Programs of the School to interrelate with each other and get to know each other by creating a social network that serves for present and future.

SESSION I

LA COMUNICACIÓN VERBAL Y ESCRITA EN EL EJERCICIO DEL DERECHO

The objective of the seminar is to reflect on the techniques of verbal and written communication in the daily work of a law professional. A lawyer spends most of his or her professional career communicating with third parties (clients, lawyers, judges, public administrations, etc.) to inform, convince or refute and, unlike other university careers, there is no subject that explains how to correctly and efficiently deal with a verbal presentation, a report, a contract, a procedural document or an e-mail.

Some guidelines on verbal and written communication techniques will be explained, and the main defects that are usually incurred will be analyzed, as well as how to correct them and refine the style.
