Face-to-face semester Spanish courses

Levels

We offer courses from A1 to C2 level, all in accordance with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). Opening groups is subject to a minimum number of students enrolled. If you already have knowledge of the language, you will have to take a level test to join the most suitable group for you.

This is the course

In our semester courses, a communicative approach is followed, and all linguistic skills are worked on: oral and written comprehension, expression and interaction.

The class sessions are designed to ensure constant interaction with the teacher and with your classmates, encouraging dynamic and practical learning.

All of the autonomous activities are always carried out under the guidance of the teacher, who provides correction and continuous feedback to help the student progress in their language acquisition.

Registration

Registration period 1S 2025/26: From July 16 to September 17, 2025.

How to register:

  • If you have previous knowledge of Spanish, please take the ONLINE PLACEMENT TEST to determine which course you can join. At the end of the test, you will obtain the final score and the link to the registration form.
  • If you have never studied Spanish before and have no knowledge of the language, you will be assigned absolute beginner level A1.1. Simply fill in the REGISTRATION FORM
  • All registrants will receive an email from the Language Centre after completing the registration.

  • Objectives
    • Engage in comprehensive work in all communicative competences, oral as well as written.
    • Acquire the tools necessary to improve oral fluency appropriate to the level.
    • Improve and broaden the student’s lexical range.
    • Work towards attaining grammatical accuracy.
  • Assessment
    • Grade for participation and progress in class: 30%
    • Grade for homework, assignments and autonomous work: 30%
    • Final exam grade: 40%

    The exam will assess all the communicative elements of the language with a maximum of 10 points possible:

    • Listening comprehension (2 points)
    • Reading comprehension (2 points)
    • Grammar and vocabulary (2 points)
    • Written expression and interaction (2 points)
    • Oral expression, interaction, and comprehension (2 points). This grade will be obtained by the completion of oral activities throughout the course.

    In order to pass the course, the student must receive a grade of 5 in each of the three parts: participation and progress, homework, and exam.

  • Attendance

    ATTENDANCE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN CREDITS

    A student may only be absent for up to 20% of the course (8 hours) for any reason.

    A student who fails to meet the attendance requirement for any reason will be allowed to take the final examination but will not receive credit.
