In the Program of Attention to Students with Disabilities, we provide personalized attention to your specific needs in any aspect of university life:
- adaptations of study materials
- technical aids, exams and academic activities
- personal support for travel
- note taking, etc.
Enroll in the program when registering at the university
Deadlines for registration:
- Undergraduate students: at the time of enrollment and, in any case, before July 26th. .
- International Exchange students:
- First semester and full academic year: until July 15.
- Second semester: until December 15.
*In case of justified unforeseen events, registration can be done at any time.
- Study support
Adaptation of exams
Personalised adaptations based on the exams and the disability in each case.
Extra time when undertaking exams: according to the criteria established in the regulations of the University Entrance Exam, based on the Order Pre/1822/2006.
Adaptation of the exam format or model: written/oral, alternative communication systems (Braille reading-writing conventions or Sign Language), adapted text formats, adapted graphic representations, text in a digital format.
Material and computer resources: laptop loan, specific software, Spoken Braille, lectern, adjustable lamp, lined paper, adapted furniture, etc.
Human resources: Sign Language interpreter or guide-interpreter, personal assistant and faculty support.
Adaptation of study materials
Necessary adaptations so that visually impaired students can access the study material.
The ONCE foundation also provides adaptation in Braille, specific digital formats, raised lettering and audio to every student that needs it.
Sign Language Interpreter
Available for classes, tutorials or activities requested by deaf students that use this sign language.
Adaptation of the study space
- Classroom furniture: special chairs and tables.
- Space reservation in teaching rooms, computer rooms and libraries.
- Adapted spaces in computer rooms for students that use wheelchairs or students with visual impairments: Braille printer, scanner, Jaws program, Omnipage and Zoomtext.
- Specific computer resources in computer rooms, requested from PIED.
- Technical resources- specialised technical support: we guide you through the most adequate computer resources for your needs.
- Loan and/or installation in university departments. The support product bank currently has the availability of:
- Laptops
- Computer programs for computer access for people with a visual impairment: Jaws screen reader and Zoomtext Magnifier.
- Dragon Naturally Speaking, voice recognition program.
- Articulated support arm for mouse or keyboard.
- Framed keyboard.
- Diverse adapted mice (ball, joystick, touchpad).
- TV magnifying glass
- Perkins Brailler.
- Modulated Frequency equipment.
- Magnetic laptop mounts.
- Manual wheelchair (emergency loan).

The library offers a personalised service for people with a disability with the aim of making it easy to use and allowing access to all the resources on offer. Services for types of user
- Personal support
Personal assistance
For students with major mobility issues. Classroom support in those activities and tasks in which they have especial difficulty and/or are unable to carry out by themselves.
Tutoring among peers program
The objective of the program is to integrate newly registered students through accompaniment and tutoring by students in higher years and thereby make their social and academic integration into the University easier.
Other support
Management of volunteers for support in travel, note taking and participation in university life.

The Capacita2 Program, by the Guidance and Employment Service of the Universidad III de Madrid Foundation, offers information and specific guidance on professional integration and Bachelor internships for disabled students.
