Professor Carlos Ramón Fernández Liesa

Carlos Ramón Fernández Liesa, a graduate and doctor in law, with an extraordinary award, is professor of public international law, member of the Aragonese Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation and vice-president of section of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. 

He has taught at the CUCG and the Diplomatic School and has been a lecturer at the Universities of Zaragoza, Extremadura, Pantheon-Sorbonne and Notre Dame. He has been Secretary General and Vice-Chancellor of the UC3M. Director of the Francisco de Vitoria Institute, of the Department of International Law and of the Fernando de los Ríos Residence of the UC3M. He has been a member of the COE Ethics Committee and is currently an expert of the OSCE Moscow Mechanism and Vice-President of the Peces-Barba Foundation for Human Rights.

Director of chairs for Banco Santander, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Fund for Indigenous Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, the United Nations and the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda. He directs the journal Tiempo de Paz (of the MPDL) and the electronic journal Iberoamericana (scopus), is a member of multiple scientific councils and director of the Master in Solidarity Action and Social Inclusion. 

Author of seven monographs, he has published more than 100 scientific studies, coordinated more than twenty collective books, supervised around twenty doctoral theses and coordinated multiple research projects. He has six five-year and five six-year periods. His main lines of research are international organisations, human rights, history of international law, sustainable development and international cooperation, international protection of culture, global risks.
