Furthermore, the study divulges that the highest percentage of employees signed up as self-employed workers corresponds to the Madrid Autonomous Community universities (10.9% compared to 10.3% in all of Spain), and the percentage of those registered in the system with a permanent work contract in the Madrid Autonomous Community is higher than the rest of Spain (61.7% versus 50.7%).  The percentage of those registered in “group A” (university graduates) in the Madrid Autonomous Community tops the figure for the rest of Spain by ten percentage points (66.1% versus 56.5%).  As for the average amount of the Social Security contribution base, the Madrid Autonomous Community scores 6.35 points higher than that for all of Spain.

The study analyzed data for 35,876 Madrid Autonomous Community 2009-2010 academic year graduates, out of the 190,749 total graduates from the Spanish University System during that period, with particular focus on the 28,271 public university graduates from the Madrid Autonomous Community (78.8% of total graduates).
