“The more research and training in health, the more and better the quality of life. UC3M Salud responds to our commitment to society,” the University's Rector, Ángel Arias, said today. “The Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience will be a pioneer in Spain, with UC3M being the first university to offer it in September 2024, and we are sure that its graduates will contribute to understanding and alleviating ailments that are very significant for daily life and to facilitating healthier ageing. To achieve this, the University will have the best neuroscientists to make contributions of great social impact”.

The UC3M Rector made these statements during the visit of the Community of Madrid's Minister of Education, Science and Universities to the Leganés Campus. The Councillor of the Social Council, Francisco Marhuenda; the Deputy Minister of Universities, Research and Science of the Community of Madrid, Ana Ramírez; and the Director General of the University of the Community of Madrid, Nicolás J. The new Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience is a benchmark in countries such as the US, and in Europe in the United Kingdom, Sweden and the Netherlands but it had not yet been implemented in Spain, with the Community of Madrid being a pioneer in this field. This degree aims to provide specialised training in the fields of Neuropharmacology, Neurobiology, Bioinformatics and Neurolaw with a transversal approach. It responds to the Public University of Madrid's commitment to training and research with the need to make progress and provide solutions in the field of Health. It will be located in Getafe and represents an important commitment to strengthening investment in research and training in the south of Madrid.

Throughout the day, attendees were able to learn about the R&D&I technologies and projects being carried out in the Bioengineering, Health Microscopy Teaching, Bioinstrumentation, Assistive Robotics and Medical Rehabilitation, Aerospace Navigation and Flight Mechanics, MAD Formula 1 Team and Aerospace Propulsion laboratories.
