UC3M maintains its position as one of the top universities in the world according to THE

It improves its ranking among Spanish institutions.

For the third year in a row, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is ranked between 601 and 800 place in the classification of the best universities in the world according to the 2018 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, which evaluate the top 1,102 universities among the approximately 18,000 which  exist at the global level.

LUC3M has also moved upward in Spain.  In the 2017/2018 edition, UC3M holds the 12th slot among the 29 Spanish universities in the ranking; in 2016/17, it was listed 14 out of 27; and in 2015/16, it was 18th out of the 25 Spanish universities classified.

The ranking has been made taking into account 13 performance indicators in five large areas: teaching (30%; learning environment), research (30%; volume, income and reputation), scientific citations (30%; citation impact), international projection (7.5%; staff, students and research) and university-industry relation(2.5%; knowledge transfer).

This edition of  “Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings” was presented in London at the THE World Academic Summit. The event was attended by representatives from 180 universities, companies and research centers from approximately 50 countries to discuss challenges facing universities in areas such as excellence in teaching, entrepreneurship and international alliances.
