“…. Certainly, a necessary curriculum so that the best graduates can help with the process of internationalisation of our businesses, creating value for its employees, its shareholders and for the country.”

There is a whole raft of job opportunities by enrolling in this program. Now, more than ever, firms look for professionals able to explore new markets and to increase the international presence of their goods and services. Then, students will be able to develop a professional career in the international division or export department of firms operating abroad.

The student will also be qualified to work in a professional capacity for public institutions, both national and multilateral, which require professionals with extensive training in economics and international administration; and in particular, in those institutions dedicated to promoting international trade and investment.

Know where our students work during the MADI course, 16/17!

Specifically, some of the professional opportunities for the students of a program like this, would be the following: :

    • Multinational businesses or those engaged in exports.
    • International marketing companies (trading, import-export brokers, etc).
    • SMEs (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises) engaged in the process of internationalisation.
    • Public sector international commercial offices (for example, in Spain, OFCOMES)
    • Public Institutions (state, autonomous and/or regional) dedicated to promoting and supporting internationalisation programs for businesses (Chambers of Commerce, IGAPE, IVEX, Copca, Extenda, for example).
    • Multilateral organisations specialising in the area of international trade (WTO, IMF, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, MIGA, Inter-American Development Bank, etc.).

    Work Experience

Students can also undertake an internship during the master, equivalent to 6 ECTS. Regarding the Master structure, students may carry out FULL-TIME or PART-TIME internships (until December 31st of the year in which the Master ends).

The Master, during the academic year, registers its students in the Orientation and Employment Service. This Service provides the students' CVs to businesses that need to cover a position related to the students' studies, it manages work experience and it negotiates the Educational Cooperation Agreements with the businesses.

Our blog regularly publish newsletters with job offers in Spain and abroad. Offers on scholarships, internships and jobs related to different areas of the company to manage international business are published.

    Orientation and Employment Service.

Orientation and Employment Service is a department created by the Carlos III University of Madrid Foundation with the aim of improving the prospects of finding work and the professional development of students at the Carlos III University of Madrid. It also guides businesses and institutions in the process of attracting and recruiting young university students with high development potential, either through work experience or a work contract.

This service analyses the offers of work from collaborating businesses and institutions and the demand for jobs from students of the Carlos III University of Madrid, matching the criteria of the two sides together. To achieve this goal the Carlos III University of Madrid Foundation relies on a large number of collaborators who use this service as a source of recruitment to cover their contract needs and professional work experience.

You can find more information about this on the Carlos III University of Madrid website:

    • A third and final payment of 2,800 Euros, until March 15th of the academic year.

Once the payment is made, the student has to send a copy of bank transfers to the secretary of the master (madi@uc3m.es) by mail. Those that do not make the payment stipulated by the deadline will lose the right to the place booked. Methodoloy and evaluation

The program combines theoretical classes and the solution of practical cases and firm’s projects. The special concurrence of these elements, oriented to achieve the maximum advantages, both from an academic and personal point of views, is one of the main added value of this program.

The case method is specially employed by our faculty, in order to face the student with the international business reality. Each student will be grouped in a work team and will have assigned a tutor-professor, who will help along during the formation period.
To obtain the title the student has to pass all the tasks and the on-going evaluations established in the different subjects. Although evaluation methods vary there are four contained in almost all subjects:

    • Practical cases, final or developed along the subject
    • Practical exercises developed along the suject
    • Reports and Works driven by tutors
    • Exams

Moreover, it is necessary to have a favorable evaluation of the Final Master Project. In this Project, the studen will work in a work team under the tutorship of an expert or professional international business. To do this project, the Master counts with the collaboration of professionals from the Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior (ICEX), analists and experts of the PIPE (Plan de iniciación a la Exportación) program that ICEX has developed to help small and medium enterprises. For completing the Project, students may visit firm’s plant, its production centers and will assist to regular meetings with managers. Thus, the project will be adjusted to the business and sector reality.
