Description
The Diagnosis of Electrical Machines and Insulating Material group, DIAMAT, is made up of a team of 12 experts who develop innovative techniques for the monitoring and diagnosis of electrical machine insulation, particularly of power transformers, in analysing the behaviour of insulating materials in machines and electrical devices, and in carrying out high tension tests and measurements and dielectric response analysis (in frequency domain). These tests may be completed and compared with the results of finite element simulation.
Lines of research
- Analysis of aging and characteristics of insulating materials in electric machines and devices
- Diagnosis by partial surges with high frequency sensors
- Monitoring and diagnosis of electrical machines and transformers for "Smart Grids"
- Review of transformer design
- Analysis and characterization of electrochemical systems of energy storage
- Application of fuel batteries, batteries and ultracondensers in electric vehicles and electric traction systems
