"Waves and gravity"

Wave phenomena appear in many branches of physics. Recently waves of a new type, gravitational waves, have been detected, which not only serve to confirm the predictions of general relativity, but also open a new window to observe the universe. In this talk I will discuss what waves are, their most important characteristics and I will talk about the peculiarities of gravitational radiation and its detection.

The Lecture is open to anyone, though a basic knowledge of physics will be welcome.
