    IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/22

    This master program is planned to be taught On- Campus, in the academic year 2021/22.
    In the event that capacity limitations persist in the classrooms at the beginning of the course due to risks derived from the COVID-19 pandemic, students must follow the sessions that are determined synchronously online. The master program will set the most appropriate shift system, always ensuring the maximum presence of all its students.
    It is recommended to have a portable computer equipment for the follow-up of those training activities that are determined. This equipment is essential for carrying out practices in virtual environments in university classrooms that do not have computer stations.
    International students who prove difficulties or delays in obtaining their visas and entering Spain, may request remote teaching until they may join the classes on-campus.

    One of the most demanded profiles by Engineering and Construction companies, which develop their professional activity in the Industrial sector is that being of a specialist in Structural Software. 

    Industrial constructions answer to specific design and Structural requirements which are essentially different to those of other types of construction. Industrial plants are generally designed with spacious areas which offer functional space in order to carry out all interior activities; with the use of cranes,  suspended equipment, spacious provisions and mezzanine levels all being needed. The habitual usage of dynamic teams condition the Structural design and foundations and is of great importance for loads of extreme character such as explosions, fires, earthquakes etc. In such a wide and competitive global market, it is therefore essential to apply different international standards, to use advanced structural software tools as well as the adequate computing tools which allows the integration of such modal to all systems of complex industrial construction. 

    The Master in Structural Engineering and Industrial Construction is not only focused on students but also professionals. The fundamental objective is to prepare qualified specialists in Structural software of specific typology orientated to the construction of industrial installations, not only for product manufacturing but also for the generation of energy. 

    The training of this Masters will focus on principally the following aspects: 

    • The study of different structural typologies used in the industrial sector
    • The loads carried out in industrial structures
    • Structural software of high-resistant buildings in the event of accident
    • The study of international standards
    • The usage and management of specific software

      The request is made electronically through our application. Before starting the admission process, please, read the following information:

      REQUIREMENTS

      The master's degree is aimed at professionals with technical engineering, higher engineering, degree or master's degrees corresponding to the branches of industrial and/or civil engineering, whose training in Solid Mechanics and Theory of Structures ensures the proper use of the master's degree offered. Specifically, among the recommended degrees are:

      • Industrial Engineering Branch: Technical Industrial Engineering (specialization in Mechanical Engineering), Industrial Engineering, Degree in Industrial Technologies, Degree in Mechanical Engineering
      • Civil Engineering Branch: Technical Engineering of Public Works, Civil Engineering, Degree in Civil Engineering, Degree in Public Works

      Exceptionally, graduates of other technical degrees may also be admitted, provided that it is guaranteed that the students have a sufficient accredited base in the subjects of Solid Mechanics and Theory of Structures, which will allow them to adapt well to the content of the proposed degree, or that they have studied the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Civil Engineering. In this case, the basic and specific training obtained will be analyzed in each particular case.

       

      ADMISSION CRITERIA

      The selection of students will be based on the curriculum vitae of the applicants. Specifically, it will be taken into account:

      Language requirements

      Check the general language requirements required to study a Master’s at UC3M, depending on whether it is in Spanish, English or bilingual.

      students with foreign university degrees

      Once admitted to the Master’s, students with university degrees issued by a higher education institution belonging to an educational system outside the EHEA, must provide, for enrolment, the diploma, legalized by diplomatic procedures or by means of The Hague Apostille. They must also submit the transcript of records, with the grade point average, duly legalized.

      Reservation fee: €450 

      • it will be paid once the student receives notification of admission to the master’s, and deducted from the first tuition payment
      • the reservation fee will only be refunded if the master program is cancelled

      60 ECTS in the first academic year:

      • EU students: €2,701.2 (€45.02/ECTS credit)
      • Non EU students: €5,044.2 (€84.07/ECTS credit)

      Additional information

      • You may enrol on the master’s degree after completing the admission process and receiving formal confirmation of your acceptance.
      • When performing the enrolment you can choose between Full-time enrolment or Part-time enrolment.
      • The email address provided upon enrolment will be used for formal communications; students are therefore kindly requested to check their mail regularly.
      • Pursuant to the regulations of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a student failing to pay any part of the fees will not be admitted and the enrolment process will be terminated. In cases of cancellation of enrolment due to non-payment, the University may demand the payment of the pending amounts for enrolment in previous academic courses as a prior condition of enrolment.
        No diploma or certificate will be issued if a student has any outstanding payments.

  • SCHOLARSHIPS

    Student Collaboration Grants in University Departments FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022

    The Ministry of Education has assigned 24 scholarships for collaboration in university departments to the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid with the aim of promoting the initiation in research tasks of those students who are in the first year of official Master's programs. It is a scholarship that allows students to get started in research tasks related to the studies they are pursuing and to facilitate their future professional or research orientation.

    • The total and unique endowment of the scholarship will be €2,000.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Not being in possession of or in legal disposition to obtain an official Master's or Doctor's degree
    • To be enrolled in 2021-2022 in official teaching of the totality of the subjects or credits of the first year of the Master's program
    • To have obtained in the academic transcript corresponding to the previous university studies that give access to the master's degree, the average grade established, depending on the branch of knowledge of origin
