The Electric Engineering Department is composed of more than 30 full-time professors and researchers, and some laboratory and administration assistants. Several well-recognized professionals from the electric power engineering industry are also part-time collaborators.

The Department guides more than 1000 students through their learning, helping to develop their aptitudes and abilities that will serve them during their future professional careers, and providing qualified engineers to society.

The research activity of the Department is carried out in collaboration with companies and other departments and public institutions, in order to improve and disseminate scientific knowledge. This is done through participation in technological projects,  through publication in high-ranked scientific journals, international conferences, and seminars.

The Electric Engineering Department is located on the campus of Leganes (Madrid) of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
