Miguel Garrido, President of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Madrid ( CEIM )

"The transformation of the market towards a digital environment is unstoppable, and therefore, solving the lack of digital profiles and skills and tackling the digital talent deficit has become a priority for society. The University Digital Backpack takes on special meaning and relevance: firstly because of its medium and long-term vision in which the group of experts will continue to monitor lines of improvement and secondly because in this model all the actors contribute: companies, public universities and private universities, hand in hand with innovation centres".

  • The University Digital Backpack already has the support of companies such as Telefónica, Deloitte, Banco Santander and Amazon, among others. Some 200,000 students will benefit from this pioneering initiative in Spain for lifelong university education. It is estimated that there are more than 150,000 jobs to be filled in our country that require professionals with digital skills and competences.
  • The University Digital Backpack training programmes have been designed by a committee of experts including representatives of the public and private universities of the Madrid Region and their Social Councils, the University and Business Foundation, CEIM, the Chamber of Commerce and companies, as well as the Vice-Ministry of Universities, Science and Innovation.
