Research stay at UC3M: DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Project:  Dynamics of Institutional Fields.  Professor Charlene Zietsma intends to focus on projects related to the dynamics of institutional fields, which are the social spaces within which interactions among members (individuals and organizations) are frequent, cultural understandings come to be shared, and formal and informal forms of power and governance guide actions and interactions. A key concept within institutional theory in particular, and social theory more broadly, institutional fields remain poorly defined and dimensionalized, leading to limited ability to cumulate scholarship on dynamic processes within fields. Together with UC3M researchers and others, Dr. Zietsma will examine field formation, power and social capital within fields. She will also focus on field infrastructures, and the association of different types and conditions of fields with the trajectories of institutional change processes.
