Jun Li - University of Oregon (USA)

Jun Li received his PhD degree in computer science from the University of California, Los Angeles, CA, in 2002, with honors (Outstanding Doctor of Philosophy). He is Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science, University of Oregon. His research is mainly targeted toward network security and he currently directs the Network Security Research Laboratory in his Department. He studies not only direct countermeasures against security attacks such as Internet worms and phishing, but also fundamental measures at the Internet architecture and protocol level that can strengthen the network against attacks. Dr. Jun Li has more than thirty peer-reviewed publications, including thirteen journal articles and a book as the first author, Disseminating Security Updates at Internet Scale. Jun Li is the recent recipient of the esteemed CAREER award from the National Science Foundation. He is also the principal investigator of a research project which is supported by a research grant from Intel and another supported by IRF research.

RESEARCH STAY AT UC3M: TELEMATIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

PROJECT: At UC3M Prof. Li is studying network security and monitoring, Internet architecture and protocols, as well as social computing. He is investigating not only direct countermeasures against security attacks such as Internet worms and phishing, but also security mechanisms that can be built into network architectures to fundamentally address network security deficiencies.
