Student prizes and awards from the School of Law and Social Sciences

  • Alfonso Sahuquillo, a double degree student in Law and Economics, won first prize in Economics and third prize in Law in the 2012-2013 National Prizes/Awards.
  • The ANUDI-UC3M team won three prizes and an honorable mention in the European Model United Nations (EuroMUN), one of the most important United Nations models on the continent.
  • Anabel Ganado, Adrián García and Carlota Moreno, double degree students in Law and Business Administration were the winners in the national final of L’Oréal Brandstorm 2017. Further information
  • Guillermo Domínguez García and Ramón González Bescos, dual degree students in Law and Economics, were declared the winners of the national KPMG Case Competition. They represented UC3M in the final of the KPMG International Case Competition, which was held in Lisbon, Portugal from April 10th to 13th, 2017. Further information
  • The team from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid won the national level of the Jessup Moot Competition and will represent Spain in the White & Case international round in Washington, D.C. Further information:
  • The team from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid won second place in the Fifth Iberoamerican Tax Moot Court, organized by the Iberoamerican Observatory of International Taxation (installed OITI in Spanish). The competition took place at the Universidade de Sao Paolo (Brazil) from the 24th to the 28th of October, 2016. Complete article:
  • The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid Debate Society team was the winner of the First Debate Tournament at the Universidad de Barcelona. Further information:
  • Cecilia Pietranera Yuste, third-year UC3M student of Law and Business Administration, obtained first prize in the “Las cuentas Cuentas” contest, sponsored by Spain’s First Territorial Association of the Institute of Auditors (initialed ICJCE in Spanish). Further information
  • A team of students pursuing a Master’s degree in Marketing at UC3M came in third place in the national competition of the 24th edition of L’Oréal Brandstorm 2016, L’Oréal Spain’s recruitment game. Read the whole article.
  • The UC3M Debate League team won the Forum for Debate on Equality at the Universidad de Salamanca on April 22nd of this year. The team is comprised of students Pablo Casado, Belén López, Natalia Velasco, Carolina Lafuente and the coordinator of the Debate Society, Álvaro de la Torre. Read the whole article
  • Forbes Magazine includes Raquel Vázquez, UC3M alumnus with a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Business Administration, in its “30 under 30” list for Europe. This recognition rewards the careers of young Europeans under the age of 30 who are changing the world in different disciplines with their work. Further information
  • The UC3M student team won the Fourth Iberamerican Tax Moot Court Competition, organized by the Iberoamerican Observatory of International Taxation. The event took place at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, in Bogotá, on October 21st and 22nd.  Further information:
  • Renata Isabel Sánchez de Lollano Caballero, a sixth-year student pursuing a dual degree in Law and Business Administration at UC3M, won the el I Premio Abogado del Futuro Wolters Kluwer - LA LEY (La Ley Future Lawyer Award). See official page.
  • The Moot Investment team of the UC3M obtained three honorable mentions in the Second International Investment Arbitration Competition held in Bogotá: Best Legal Brief for the Plaintiff, Best Legal Brief for the Defendant, and Best Individual Speaker to student Elia Cerrato.
  • Teresa Sancho Balague won the award for best individual presentation in the EU Tax Student Conference organized by Queen Mary University of London under the direction of Professor Tom O’Shea.
  • The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid Team was runner-up of Jessup Spain 2015.  Also, the team received the prize for best statement of defense, and student Ángela Gamonal recognition for the best Speaker in the competition. Consult the official news item.
  • UC3M student Marta Martínez Pallarés was awarded second prize in the “Las Cuentas Claras” contest organized by the First Territorial Association of the Spanish Institute of Auditors.
  • Jana Lamas de Mesa won the prize for Best Individual Speaker in the First International Investment Arbitration Competition, held in Washington, D.C. from March 12th to 16th. Natalia Osona won honorable mention in the category of Individual Speaker. Both were sponsored by the Arbitration Court of Madrid in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.   • Nikolay Iliev, UC3M Master’s degree student in Access to the Legal Profession, was the second finalist in the Young Tax Professional of the Year in Spain contest, held by the Ernst & Young consultancy. See Group of Applied Mathematical Analysis
  • The team from the company SANITAS won the final of the Jumping Talent contest. Natalia Privee Boudeguer, a graduate of the UC3M in Law and Business Administration, was one of the winners from this team.
  • A team from UC3M won the gold medal in the 2013 edition of the “Econometric Game,” competing with other universities of excellence such as Oxford, Cambridge, the LSE, Harvard and Tilburg, among others. See Econometric Game news
