Professor Josetxo Cerdán Los Arcos
Josetxo Cerdán Los Arcos has a PhD in Audiovisual Communication from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has been Associate Professor at the same university (2003-2008) and at the Rovira i Virgili University (2008-2015). Since 2017, he is Full Professor of Audiovisual Communication Department of Communication at the University Carlos III of Madrid. Between September 2018 and December 2023 he held the position of Director at Filmoteca Española. He has carried out research stays at New York University (2010) and the Universität Regensburg (2018).
He has also committed his efforts on the dissemination of knowledge through cultural management and curatorial work. Among others, he has been Artistic Director at the Navarra International Documentary Film Festival Punto de Vista (2010-2013), he curated the international Flaherty Seminar (2012) or has been developing film programs for various national and international institutions such as the International Film Festival Locarno Cinema (2009); the Anthology Film Archive (2013 and 2023); or the Lincoln Center (2014).
