Professor Elviro Aranda Álvarez

Elviro Aranda Álvarez is Professor of Constitutional Law at the Carlos III University of Madrid. He has 4 six-year research periods, 1 transfer period. He has 5 teaching merit periods and 9 three-year periods. He regularly teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He directs the "Manuel García Pelayo" Institute of Comparative Public Law at UC3M. In the Master in Public Law at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid he is director of the programme "Constitutional Organisation of Powers in the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court". He has been Visiting Research Professor at the School of Law Queen's University. Belfast. In the field of his research activity, in recent years, he has been studying the effects of the principle of budgetary stability in the social state. Other lines of research include parliamentary law; fundamental rights, in particular, the right to equality and non-discrimination and access to and exercise of public office and territorial organisation; the state of autonomy in the framework of decentralised states. He has authored or co-authored eight books and more than forty specialised articles on these subjects.
