Professor María Concepción Ausín Olivera

Concepción Ausín has a degree in Mathematics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1997) and a PhD in Mathematical Engineering from the Universidad Carlos de Madrid (2004). She has been a Researcher for the Xunta de Galicia at the Universidade da Coruña and Assistant Professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Since 2011, she is Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Her research lines focus on the development of computational Bayesian methods for complex dynamic data and their applications in environmental and financial problems. Her work has been published in high impact international journals such as Science Advances and highly prestigious in the area of ​​Statistics such as the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics. In 2015 she obtained the Award of Excellence from the Social Council of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in the category of Young Researchers. She was Visiting Scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Visiting Researcher at the IMATI Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Milan.

At the School of Law and Social Sciences of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, she has held the position of Vice Dean of Promotion and Former Students.
