Professor María Luz Durbán Reguera

María L. Durbán Reguera has a B.Sc. in Mathematics at University of Granada, M.Sc. in Mathematics Statistics at Cambridge University and Ph.D. in Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University. She is a member Carlos III University since 2000, and she became Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics in 2005.

Her research is focused on regression methods for multidimensional smoothing, efficient algorithms for the analysis of complex data, and their application in areas such as Medicine, Environmental Sciences, Insurance and Demography. She is author of two books, publishes regularly in international scientific journal and teaches specialized courses in national and international institutions.

Since 2005, she combines her research with other management activities: she has been Deputy Director for Promotion at the Engineering School (2005-2008), Deputy Director of the Department of Statistics (2013-2015); since 2007 is Director of the "Fernando Abrill Martorell" Hall of Residence, and currently she is Deputy Vice-President for Promotion.
