Professor Ramón Barber Castaño

Ramón Barber is an Industrial Engineer (1994) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and a Doctor of Industrial Technologies (2000) from the Carlos IIII University of Madrid. He performs research tasks in the field of environment modeling and mobile robot navigation, where he has directed and participated in numerous national and international projects and has supervised 7 doctoral theses. He has more than 80 publications in prestigious international magazines and conferences and is the co author of 4 patents, one of them of an international and in operation by a multinational in the automotive sector.

In the international field, he is a reviewer and member of the Editorial Board of prestigious international journals. He is an external examiner for Doctoral Thesis at Anna de Chenai University and ITE Madurai in India, and is a member of various ITCs of international congresses. He has participated in the elaboration of an Erasmus agreement with the University of Lincoln, UK, for the exchange of students, professors and researchers.

He belongs to numerous national and international associations within automation and robotics such as CEA-IFAC, HISPAROB, EURON and CLAWAR networks of excellence and is a member of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Madrid. He is currently a Senior Member of the IEEE, being a member of the IEEE Spanish Directive Board since 2019.
