Mª Cruz Llamazares Calzadilla

Professor Mª Cruz Llamazares Calzadilla

PhD in Law (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 1996), she holds a position of Senior Lecturer with tenure in Universidad Carlos III de Madrid since 2002. She obtained the Academic National Qualification as Professor in Law in 2007.
Previously, she developed her teaching and research activity in different spanish Universities (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad de Málaga, Universidad Pública de Navarra and Universidad de Valladolid).

She has published three monographies and several journal articles and book chapters on issues related to her main lines of investigation: freedom of thought, conscience and religion; equality and dignity; minority rights; education rights and liberties; freedom of expression and freedom of the press. She has participated as a full-time researcher in seven national research projects funded by public entities.

She is member of the research Cathedra of Secularism and Public Liberties “Fernando de los Rios” (uc3m) and member of the research team of the Institute of Comparative Public Law “Manuel García Pelayo” (uc3m). She is also founder member of the Society “Derecho, Laicidad y Libertades”, whose porpouse is the academic research in the fields of Public Liberties and Human Rights, and State-Church relationship (among other activities, the society publishes the annual review “Laicidad y Libertades: Escritos Jurídicos” (Secularism and Liberties: Legal Papers).

She has been member of the Board of Directors of RTVE Corporation (Spanish Public Broadcasting Corporation), designated by the Spanish Parliament (full dedication, 2007-2012). Currently, she holds the posts of Coordinator of Final Degree in Law, and Vice Dean of Law (UC3M).
