Objectives

  • To boost quality research and the development of economic analysis application in Law.
  • To foster research on the effects produced by the legal system in society, through the use of methods characteristic of social sciences and the use of the quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques.
  • To develop analytical appliances useful for the evaluation, effect-prediction and design of this form of public policy making up juridical policy, as well as analyzing the role played by the main existing institutions.
  • To promote multidisciplinary research and collaboration of the aforementioned disciplines with the legal dogma and with Sociology, Anthropology, Philosophy and History of law.

In the previously mentioned context, special attention will be given to the following specific objectives:

  • To study risk-associated problems and the different legal institutions related to them (insurance, legal institutions…)
  • To study and evaluate criminal policy
  • To research the fundamental problems of the administration of Justice
  • To promote and facilitate the knowledge of relevant theories and techniques through the opportune courses.
  • To advance in the study of the effects caused by the legal system in the Economy.
