To disseminate ideas, techniques and technology that will contribute to improving the roles, aims and activities carried out by information professionals in libraries, archives, documentation centers and museums in the age of the information society.
To promote the importance of digital preservation for long-term conservation of digital documents and to help disseminate techniques for information identification, analysis and management, contributing to the effective use of electronic information.
To develop research and experimental set-ups regarding tele-education, where organization and management of information flows play a fundamental role.
