Professor Pedro Riera Sagrera

Pedro Riera is the current Head of the Social Sciences Departament at University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M). He obtained a MA in Social Sciences at the Juan March Institute (Madrid) and a PhD in Political and Social Sciences at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy). He has been the Director of the Graduate School of Economics and Political Science between 2020 and 2023, and of the Masters in Political and Electoral Analysis since 2019 at UC3M.

Pedro’s research interests include voting behavior and institutional engineering always with a comparative perspective and a quantitative approach. He has published his research in Comparative Political Studies, the European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics, Political Behavior and Party Politics, among other journals.
