Professor Matilde Pilar Sánchez Fernández

Matilde Sánchez Fernández obtained her degree in Telecommunications Engineering and her PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1996 and 2001 respectively. She joined the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2000 where she is a University Professor in the Department of Signal Theory and Communications since 2009. Previously he worked as a telecommunication engineer for Telefónica.

She has done several research stays at the Information and Telecommunication Technology Center at Kansas University (1998), Bell-Labs, New Jersey (2003-2006), Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya, Barcelona (2007) and Princeton University, New Jersey (2011).

Her current lines of research are signal processing techniques for wireless technologies, channel modeling in wireless communications and learning techniques and game theory applied to communications. As a professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, she teaches several undergraduate and master courses related to communication theory and digital communications.

Within the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid she has held the positions of Academic Secretary of the Department and Academic Sub-Director.
