These days are aimed at the nearly 1000 international students from the Erasmus+ Degree, E+ ICM (KA171), E+ Master, Non-European Mobility and International Double Degrees exchange programmes, the Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) European universities network and the national SICUE programme. In turn, 800 more students from the Free Movers and Study Abroad programmes scheduled for the second term of the 2023/2024 academic year will take part in these events. The countries of origin of most of the students are: the United States, various countries in South America, France, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Poland and South Korea, among other countries.

These welcome days are organised by the International Relations Service (SERINT, in its Spanish acronym) of the Vice Rector’s Office for Internationalisation and the Carlos III International School (C3IS). The events will take place on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th of January in the Auditorium on UC3M’s Leganés Campus.

The director of the C3IS, Álvaro Escribano, will open the session on Thursday. The event will be attended by representatives from the United States Embassy and UC3M. In addition, international students will meet with UC3M students who volunteer for the Buddy Programme, an initiative that aims to help them solve problems and doubts that may arise during their first days at the University.

On Friday, UC3M's Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Carolina Marugán, will open the event. It will be attended by the directors of the School of Engineering, the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities, Communication and Documentation, and the International Relations Service. The international student associations BEST UC3M and ESN-UC3M will also participate.
