UC3M joins the International Day of People with Disabilities
12/1/23
The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) commemorates the International and European Day of People with Disabilities by reaffirming its commitment to the human rights of people with disabilities and their families, especially those who are part of the university community.

For this purpose, UC3M is promoting measures aimed at protecting the rights and dignity of people with disabilities, such as a care programme for students with disabilities and specific educational support needs; financial aid for students with specific needs due to disability; places for students with a recognised degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%; a workshop on the importance of sign language; and disability awareness days.
These initiatives will culminate in the creation of a Diversity Care Unit, as set out in Article 46.2 of the Organic Law of the University System.
Likewise, the Vice-Rector's Office for Institutional Relations, Culture and Equality, in coordination with the Vice-Rector's Office for Students and Healthy Campuses, has organised different activities with the aim of bringing the university community closer to the different realities of people with disabilities in a dynamic and participatory way.
