22 UC3M master’s degrees among the best in Spain

The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is listed as one of the best Spanish institutions to study a post-graduate degree, according to the new 250 Master ranking published by the newspaper El Mundo. According to the results of this report, UC3M has 22 master’s degrees in the top five positions among the 50 specialities that are assessed.

This guide compiles 250 postgraduate programmes, selected from more than 1,000 options. The aim is to provide useful information to future students. Only degrees that meet the following requirements were considered: they must be face-to-face programmes, taught in Spain, have a minimum duration of 500 teaching hours and have at least four completed editions.

This ranking was carried out with the participation of teaching staff, students, alumni and managers of the companies that collaborate with the degrees. In total, 25 criteria related to demand, human resources, curriculum, results and material resources available to these master’s degrees were considered.

The 22 UC3M degrees that appear in this ranking are listed below:

  • Master’s Degree in Tourism Management of Cultural and Natural Resources (Spanish);
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering (Spanish); 
  • Master’s Degree in Contemporary Spanish Language and Literature (Spanish);

  • Master’s Degree in Mediation, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (Spanish);

UC3M offers a wide range of postgraduate programmes. 70 master’s degrees are taught in the fields of Law, Economics and Political Science; Business; Humanities and Communication; and Engineering and Basic Sciences, along with 50 of its own degree programmes. Around 10 percent of the programmes are bilingual and around 20 percent are taught in English.

Internationalisation and employability

UC3M is a Spanish public university that excels in research, teaching and innovation. It is among the top 35 universities in the world in the QS Top 50 Under 50 ranking and is listed among the best universities in the world in 14 academic fields, according to the Shanghai 2021 subject ranking. UC3M has numerous accreditations and quality awards, such as the EUR-ACE seal in the field of engineering or the AACSB accreditation in business and finance programmes, among others. UC3M is among the best universities in the world in terms of employability, according to the Times Higher Education (THE) Global University Employability Ranking 2021, which identifies the universities that best prepare their students to enter the job market. Specifically, it is the second Spanish public university and ranks 138th in the world. 90.6% of UC3M graduates find employment in their first two years as graduates and their overall satisfaction is very positive (97.1% would recommend studying at the University), according to the 25th Employability Study carried out by the Universidad Carlos III Foundation’s Guidance and Employment Service.
