2/25/19

On 25 th and 28 th February, the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is holding a set of activities on its Getafe and Leganés campuses to familiarise students with the processes of job-searching through different workshops, interview simulations or group dynamics or a career opportunities day where large companies will inform them about job opportunities in different sectors.

The main aim of this event, organised by the UC3M Foundation and the University’s Guidance and Employment Service, is to offer students the chance to take part in different activities aimed at helping them in the process of entering the job market. At the moment, over 1000 students have signed up.

What’s new this year is the Networking Sessions, a chance to get to know the companies in person. The idea is that the students get first-hand information on what the career options are today and in the future, the qualifications required for each of the different areas or departments, etc.

What’s more, an International Employment Day is being held to provide students with updated information on the resources they can use to look for internships and employment abroad. There will also be information on how to write a CV in English, an essential tool for job-searching within and outside Europe.

The activities are carried out with two initiatives. On the one hand, in the Legal Marathon, attended by big law firms, information will be given on the keys to pursuing a career in this field. On the other hand, on the Bridge to Employment, students will be given consultancy and guidance for reviewing their CV or assessing their digital profile, as well as the chance to take a professional photo for their CV and social media.

The UC3M’s Guidance and Employment Service, organiser of the activities, is the main access route to the job market for graduates. The Universidad Carlos III Foundation’s aim is to channel the collaboration of companies, institutions and society with the University and, specifically, through continuous education and students’ entry into the job market.

The UC3M is an innovative public university dedicated to improving society through cutting-edge research and high-quality teaching, in accordance with the strictest international guidelines. It is the top university in Spain and the 22 nd in the world in the QS ranking of the 50 best universities in the world under the age of 50 and it is included in the THE World University Rankings. It is also top of the Erasmus+ students mobility ranking.
