Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) has opened the call for the Talent 2018-2019 scholarships, which provide a total of 77 grants for the new students with the best entrance results. The application period for these scholarships runs from the 18th of June until the 4th of July.

The objective of this programme is to recognise the effort and excellence of students who obtain outstanding academic results. The total amount allocated to these scholarships is over 100,000 euro and is partly funded by Banco Santander.

The programme consists of two categories: the "UC3M Entrance Scholarships", 50 grants of 1,000 euro each for the students from any of the autonomous communities with the best UC3M entrance results, and the “UC3M Destination Scholarships", 27 grants of 2,000 euro each to students with the best entrance results from other autonomous communities in order to help them relocate and get settled.

The beneficiaries of these scholarships will be signed up for the Peer Tutoring Programme. This programme involves senior students supporting and tutoring first-year students in order to help them to adapt more quickly to university life. These students will then participate in the programme themselves when they move on to their second year, using their experience to help new students.

Banco Santander's support for this scholarship programme is part of the relationship it has maintained with UC3M since 1999 for the implementation of this and other academic projects.
