UC3M’s Intercampus Run celebrates its 20th anniversary

La Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) celebrates the 20th edition of its Intercampus Run, which will take place this coming March 18th, between the Leganés and Getafe campuses. There will be two formats: 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers. New this year will be a classification for the 5 kilometer run.
A total of 2000 runners are expected to participate. In addition to the awards for first place for men and for women, trophies will be given to the winners of the junior, veterans and disabled categories, which will have sections for both the physically and intellectually challenged, as well as for those competing in wheelchairs, among others.
One of the hallmarks of the Intercampus Run is the work of the volunteers, the majority of whom are UC3M students. Thanks to their efforts and to those of the UC3M organization, this race has become one of the Community of Madrid’s classic sporting events.
Among the services offered for the race will be secure parking near the finish line (Getafe campus), a cloakroom, runners who will mark 42, 45, 50 and 55 minute finish times, physical therapy services, free bus service for runners and free tickets on some Renfe Cercanías (commuter train) lines.
For this event, UC3M enjoys the collaboration of the city governments of Getafe and Leganés, who provide sports, local police and civil protection services. Sponsors of the race are Be One, Coca Cola, Grupo Educativo and Renault Qualitauto. In addition, there are numerous companies that collaborate, including Autocares M. de Soto, Clevisa Informática, Corposalud, Corricolari, Eurest, Centro Médico Nenúfar, No + Vello, PilateSalud, Fisioterapia Pizarro, Puy Son Car, Renfe, Runner’s, RunVip and SportLife.
