UC3M augments its Center for Graduate Studies

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) has presented the expansion of its Center for Graduate Studies within the framework of a welcome ceremony for its Master´s programs, held on September 19 on the Getafe and Madrid-Puerta de Toledo Campuses.

The Center for Graduate Studies on the Madrid-Puerta de Toledo Campus inaugurated its new facilities, after undergoing renovation during the past months on the building’s third and fifth floor.  As a result, UC3M occupies all the floors of this building complex and half of its total space, made up of 22,000 square meters. 

The remodeling was undertaken within a context of sustainable urbanism and with the goal of increasing the quality of the building in aspects such as carpentry, metalworking, acclimatization, structure, plumbing, painting, sanitation and ventilation, among others.  

Additionally, during the welcome ceremony, a new space at the Center of Graduate Studies in the “Carmen Martín Gaite” building on the Getafe campus was presented, which underwent remodeling to accommodate all of the diverse UC3M programs.

Recent additions to the graduate program offer

For academic year 2016/17 UC3M is kicking off its graduate studies offer with new University Master’s in Social Sciences, Communication and Advertising, and in Computer Technologies applied to the Financial Sector. Furthermore, it is launching three UC3M-accredited degrees: Specialist in Corporate Law, Master’s in Political Analysis, and Master’s in the Arts and Artistic Professions.

UC3M offers 66 official University Master’s degrees (19 in Law; 12 in Business and Economics; 12 in Humanities, Communication, Documentation and Social Sciences; 23 in Engineering and Basic Sciences), in addition to 39 UC3M-accredited programs. Approximately 15 percent of the programs are given in English and Spanish (bilingual), and around 20 percent are taught in English.  In sum, UC3M has more than 3,000 students enrolled in its graduate programs (2,366 in University Master’s programs and 635 in UC3M-accredited Master’s programs. data 2015/16).
