UC3M heads the CyD Ranking in international orientation

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is the top Spanish institution of higher learning in international orientation and it is ranked among the best Spanish universities for performance, according to the new edition of the Fundación Conocimiento y Desarrollo (CyD) Ranking.
The report examines 32 indicators that focus on five dimensions: contribution to regional development, teaching, research, international orientation and knowledge transfer.
UC3M holds sixth place overall and is the Spanish university with the greatest number of high performance indicators in the area of international orientation; these indicators assess such issues as undergraduate and graduate programs offered in a foreign language, international student mobility, international faculty, and international doctoral theses and publications.
The 2016 CYD Ranking
The current ranking includes 66 Spanish universities from the 83 existing ones, of which 44 are public and 22 private, representing all of the Spanish Autonomous Communities. It analyzes 13 areas of knowledge, 948 degree programs, and presents 32 institutional performance indicators in the 6 areas of knowledge analyzed: biology, history, mathematics, chemistry, and sociology (where UC3M ranks third in Spain) and social work.
The third CYD Ranking, spearheaded by the Fundación, which Ana Botín directs, is based on data from several sources: the Ministry of Education, bibliometric data, patent data, and student surveys. The fourth CYD Ranking will be presented in the second semester of 2017.
