    f you are a teacher or you are preparing to be, the Institución Libre de Enseñanza, theFundación Estudio and the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid offer the program Laboratory of the New Education, awarded the title of master,, specialist or expert  Innovación educativa and that will enable you to develop the skills you need to become a teacher of the new education and participate in the formation of citizens of the XXI century. You will learn in practice what later will apply in your career.

  • PROGRAM

    The curriculum is composed of 48 theoretical practical ECTS + 12 / TFM for master.

    The title of master requires take the entire modules and provides training in both the theoretical basis of professional knowledge of teachers, and strategies available to teachers to encourage learning, assess their results and transform learning processes according to this research, along with practical experience of the application in the educational space of this knowledge and strategies.

    Complementary activities

    The program is completed with seminars, debates, conferences and meetings throughout the entire course, with the participation of renowned experts in the field of educational innovation. Attendance at these activities (which involves carrying out practical work) is an element of valuation for the appropriations allocated to practicum.

    Practicum/TFM (12 ECTS)

    Practices for establishing  agreements with centers  educational, cultural institutions and companies that want to implement innovation processes in training. In the 2018/19 edition is counted so far with the collaboration of the following schools:

      Number of places: 40

      Qualifications required

      Master's: University degree in any specialty.

      No previous professional experience is required, although it will be considered when selecting candidates.

       

      Profile of students

      The program is aimed at:

      • Graduate Schools of Education or Teacher Training Schools.
      • Nursery and primary teachers.
      • Teachers Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching.
      • University teachers.
      • Graduates who want to teach at any educational level.
      • Managers and directors of educational institutions, or aspiring.
      • Other trainers: responsible for educational programs of cultural institutions, continuing education teachers or teacher trainers.
      • Responsible for publishing innovation or technology companies related to education.

      Selection

      Besides the academic and professional curriculum a will analyze portfolio of candidate (career and projects) and a personal interview to check the skills development of teaching competence and motivation, commitment to the profession and inclination to be held pedagogical work of each candidate.

      The deadline for submitting applications is open until July 15. The deadline extended until September 30.

    • REGISTRATION
      • Master: 5.500 euros

      The tuition may be split into several installments distributed as follows:

      • Once you have been notified in writing admission, the candidate must enter the amount of € 1,000 as payment of the first installment and reservations of the master (500 € for the specialist, the expert 500).
      • Second installment , amounting to € 2,250 for the master (1,500 for the specialist, 1,250 for expert) before October 31
      • Third installment , amounting to € 2,250 for the master (1,500 for the specialist, 1,250 for expert) before March 15

      Payment of the reservation fee is not refundable except for reasons attributable to the University.

    Agreements with practice centers aim to promote the integration of pupils and to ensure that schools receive each year new students in well-trained and involved in their work practices.

  • PRACTICAL INFORMATION

    Duration and Schedule

    The program takes place between October 2019 and October 2020 (the completion of the Practicum / TFM is extended until December 2020 in accordance with the practice centers). The academic year ends in June 2020.

    Distance learning

    The program includes classroom activities, activities online, visits, internships, mentoring and personal work, accounting for a total of 1,500 student hours.

    Classroom activities (including those made on line ) will take place on Friday from 18 to 21 hours and Saturdays from 10 to 14 hours. Some special items may be held outside these hours.

    Mode on line

    Development of on-line mode the Aula Global UC3M platform is used. Through this platform students access the contents of the Master, among others, for each subject educational materials, activities, tasks, discussion forums, video presentations, etc. for each subject.

    TFM/Practicum

    The TFM consist of an innovation project in an actual learning environment (school, university, institutional, business). In the center practices a mentor is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the project, in close relationship with the tutor of the master. For practical agreements with schools, cultural institutions and companies that want to implement innovation in training processes are established.

    Throughout the 2019-2020 course, such practices will be held at the agreed time with each center of practices between January and May 2020. 

    The appropriations allocated to the practices and TFM are 12 for the Master. Students practicing as practicing teachers in schools or work as trainers in other centers or organizations may realize their innovation project as part of the work being done in their workplaces, always agree with his tutor.

    In a school context, classroom practices will be distributed throughout the school year in two different stages. The first phase will be  watching , it will last for two to three weeks and will take place in the second quarter of the year, preferably in February. The second phase of  Development , will be held in the third quarter and it will start designing and making data necessary for the development of a specific innovation project for the center and will form the basis of TFM.

    Methodology

    The methodology is based on learning by the same procedures as apply who follow the program in their professional practice as expressed in the phrase " learning by doing " . While methodologies such as project learning, solving challenges in real contexts and collaborative procedures, are put into practice acquired knowledge and learned methodologies: the program is the implementation of the new education.

     

    Objectives

    The title of Master provides training in the theoretical principles and strategies available to teachers to encourage learning, assess their results and transform learning processes according to this research, along with practical experience of the application in the educational space of this knowledge and strategies.

    The purpose of the program is to offer :

    • A practicing teachers, career advancement professional and participate in the process of effective transformation of schools.
    • A management teams, managers of schools or drivers of change processes in these centers, multiple tools for developing their work .
    • Educators training programs for teachers of all educational levels, an overview of the most popular ways for their students.
    • A further training and differentiated for graduates of schools of teachers and those attending (or have completed) master professional training of high school teachers.

    CALL FOR AID 2019-2020

    The Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, theFundación Francisco Giner de los Ríos-Institución Libre de Enseñanza and Fundación Estudio announce the granting of aid for the Master's in Educational Innovation 2019-2020, facilitating access to this training to selected students based on its trajectory, potential and motivation.

     

    Endowment

    Two types of grants are held according to the amount of the provision:

    1. prize 50% of the cost of tuition for the academic year 2019-2020
    2. financial allowance of 25% of the cost of tuition for the academic year 2019-2020

     

    APPLICATION AND AWARD

    Calendar:

    • July 25, 2019: Opening of the call
    • September 20, 2019 at 12.00 h (Spanish time): Closing the call
    • September 24, 2019: Failure of jury

    The deadline to confirm acceptance of the grant will be 4 days from the communication of the resolution.

    To apply for assistance the applicant shall submit his application for registration in the Master attaching the following documentation:

    • Motivation letter explaining interest and objectives to enter the Master's in Educational Innovation

     Selection:

    The process will follow these steps:

    • Personal interview with shortlisted candidates (in person, by telephone or Internet)
